Why Afternoon Church is a Bad Idea

Our church this year is at 1 o'clock. It's right after lunch when everyone, including mommy and daddy, are ready for naps. I cannot tell you the number of times Aaron has fallen asleep at the dinner table. We thought maybe tonight if we ate outside that would help everyone make it through dinner better. But Aaron was still nodding off. Poor guy! There he sits with his grilled cheese in his lap and napkin dangling off the table. The video is very funny. He even sleeps over Owen's cough and Luke's yelling "Aaaaron!"

I'm not sure there's a perfect time for church. We have 11:00 church and we have one little guy who's always falling asleep in nursery, even during snack time and the table. Poor kiddos. Sometimes sleep trumps hunger.

I could not agree more, except that bishopric meetings start later with 1 p.m. church - I like that. However, dosing on the stand after a good lunch is not good, but alas, naps must take place, as proven by Aaron

The best time for church is the time that will never happen...10 am till 1pm...it is late enough that you aren't waking up TOO early and it ends at 1 where you aren't starving yourself, let alone the kids who, if they haven't napped, could eat everything in the fridge..
