Today was my last race of the season. I had originally planned on doing the Lake Sammamish Triathlon which is next week, but when Haze found this one and said she wanted to do it, and I really didn't want to bike and run anyway, so the Emerald City Swim it was. It was a 1 mile triangle course. No timing chips which was new for me. It felt like it was 1988 or something. They actually hand wrote our numbers and times on paper tags we pinned to our suits. And they used notecards to write down the winners and handed them to the announcer. Very old school. I was faster which was good. I was 2 minutes faster than if I had kept the same pace from the Fat Salmon. My time was 30:37, not bad, but room to improve. The water was great, the sun was shining, it was a very nice swim.
Cool t-shirt huh. What is that thing? Maybe a water dragon?
The results will probably be hand entered over the next few weeks using a room sized computer and possibly posted on something called the internet or world wide web in a few months. ( = I was not in the top 3 in my age group and I was 101st to come in on the 1 mile swim (there was a 1/2 mile too) out of maybe 250-300? That's all I know about what place I was in.
