Sweet, Sugar and Spice

As you may remember I bought some of this to add some happy balance to adoption work. Well, I decided to needed to make a quilt to match too. Of coarse.

So I picked two fabric lines that I really, really like. "Sweet" by Urban Chiks for Moda (good luck finding it, it's oldish. I got lucky and won mine here) and "Sugar and Spice" by the Quilted Fish for Riley Blake. Great names for a baby girl quilt don't you think? "Sweet" and "Sugar and Spice"?

Here's a jelly roll and a honey bun all ready for "baking." The great thing about jelly rolls and huney buns is they save you on rounding up matching prints, you have the whole matching fabric line right there in your palm. As you see here:

The "bed head" goes with the quilting and bedding theme nicely don't you think?

Here's the recipe of choice.

I'm not going to buy the pattern. (If you're curious it's mini Merry Go Round) Part because I'm cheap and part because I used to teach Geometry so I can look at it and know all the angles and sizes. Plus my sign making super nice brother is cutting me a clear plastic ruler gismo that will be better than a pattern. She should go together in a snap!

Can't wait!
