Before and After: Weird Window Fix

Part of living in an old house is the additions and remodels that previous owners have done.

I could explain why I have a weird window (foundation height difference . . . blah . . . blah) but the end result is the same, I have a weird window in my family room.

Notice the distance from the ceiling? It's weird. And the wall proportions, weird and awkward feeling.

But, this is where window treatments come it and hide all that.

So . . .

So much better!! Much more balanced.

I used Kate Spain's Fandango fabric and I LOVE it!

The brown ties slide to the sides and the yellow shade comes down. It's lined with black-out fabric, so it's great for movies on the flat screen.

All it is, is 2x4's, hot glue, fabric and some seamstress work. But now the window doesn't look like a weird port hole in an unplanned room. It looks like it should!
