White Canvas

The bank we bought our house from painted all the rooms and mouldings in our new house white. Which is fine, it's a blank canvas. And I like white. But our bedroom has been making Mike and I feel a little institutionalized.

White walls, creme colored blanket (Seattle down comforter too hot), beige bed skirt, tile floor, and white black-out curtains (I made those the first couple weeks, that morning sun was waking me up before 6!).

We need color.

I love my garden view out my window.

So I pulled some quilt blocks in the works and some favorite art together for a pallet. They all have a garden feel to them. Wish me luck!

The two lower prints are from my Aunt Deann, a Southern Utah artist. The framed piece is an original, a generous congratulations on the adoption gift, from my good friend Janice, also an adoptive mom. I think the room will end up a green--see the paint sample on the edge of the picture.
