My Favorite House on the Block

I've been running in the mornings (since it's free and flexible--not because I like to). The best part of the run is looking at all the houses, what colors they paint them, what they grow in their yards. I catch myself thinking up ways to make the neighbors houses and yards look better--probably because I know we will end up with another project house. Most of them are perfect and inspirational.

This one is my favorite.

The lady of the house grew up in the house. Then after she got married she and her husband bought it from her parents and raised their kids in it. It has an amazing backyard complete with pool, tree fort, and view of the city. Maybe I love it because of the red front doors,

or the yellow flowered hedge,

the brick work, the fresh white paint, or the worn in basketball hoop. It's just a great house. I wonder all the time what our next house will look like. I look forward to finding out.

I'm sure I must be wrong, but didn't you just move? And fixers are the best kind of homes - you can make them the way you want, without all the drama of building a new house (OK, fixers have their own special brand of drama!)

I love that house too! That family is so nice too! And I totally want red doors!
