Masking Tape

We've been planning to paint the house since we moved in. So I've had plenty of time to choose the color I wanted to paint my house. I found it on a house in a nice new neighborhood near some friend's house. Every time I would drive by I would say, "That's my house color."

So the day came to buy the paint and I drove to the paint store, borrowed the color wheel and stood out in front of a stranger's house until I found the match. (Thank goodness for DVD players in cars--the boys were totally happy to wait for me.) Then I went back to the paint store and ordered up the paint.

After the house was sprayed, we used masking tape to get ready to do the trim. As I put the tape on I couldn't help but notice the tape was the exact same color as the house paint! This whole time my house color was under my nose right in my junk drawer.

Anyway, here are some before and after shots. Try to ignore the junk on the lawn. We cleaned out the garage today. If you see anything you want let me know. All that stuff has to go.

Before--sorry I couldn't find one of the whole house, but you get the idea.

After:

Our realtor came by today. She said the color was wonderful and loved all our improvements, so hopefully that makes for a quick sale.

That is the perfect house color! It is the same color that all 5 of our homes have been painted. Some came that way and some we did, but it is a non-datable home color, for sure. And my hubby's a realtor, so we KNOW these things! (heeheehee)
