He made his own lizard on a rock cake with Skittles. (seriously--it was great--I mostly watched and helped with Skittle placement. Oh yeah, I took it out of the oven too.)
He knew just what friends he wanted to come. His list was initially all girls, but he did manage to add some boys after I made him. ( = He loves the ladies. Can you believe I took on this crowd alone?! Good thing we extended the table! We played a few games.
Including "Grunt Piggy Grunt," a family favorite.
But really the party is all about the pinata. Luke went first as the birthday boy, but that meant hitter #4, William, broke it open. He's still a little sad he wasn't the one to break it open. But he did manage to collect the most candy.
My 5 favorite things about Luke are:
1) He LOVES a project, task or assignment and he sticks with it until it's done and then wants another project or to do it again. He's determined and focused. He's a great helper.
2) He can spot and catch crabs, frogs, lizards, and of coarse snails, slugs, worms and bugs. He loves all animals and likes to learn about them.
3) He has a wonderful sense of humor. He's very clever and makes witty silly connections all the time. He knows how to "trick." He loves a game.
4) He is very good at taking care of smaller kids and girls, including me--he warns me all the time of hot things, sharp objects, and cars in the road.
5) His amazing blue eyes, million dollar smile, and golden locks melt my heart regularly.
Happy Birthday LUKE!

Is he really 5 already? Time sure does fly!! I love that he planned it all out and did most of the work. Why not make him the official party planner/baker extraordinaire! Maybe you could hire him out too. He sounds like a project manager in the making. I love your five favorite things. A very sweet way to end the post :) Glad he had a good birthday.
