The Incredible Owen

This morning I went in to get Aaron and Owen up and out of bed and got quite a wake-up! Owen usually wakes up first and plays in his crib until Aaron wakes up. I give them a few minutes and then I go in. Aaron is not a morning person and he's happy to wake up slow. I had heard Owen and waited, then I heard Aaron calling "Mom!" So I went up. As I opened the door. Owen was walking around the room--not in his crib! No wonder Aaron was calling for me--something was wrong! My first thought was dang it! He can climb out of his crib?! But then I looked at the crib. He had rattled it and shook it until it broke apart at the seams. The whole end of it broke off. We bought the crib used off Craig's List, but the original occupant was a light weight darling Japanese girl. I don't think she probably even rattled the crib. She might have weighed 20 lbs when they transferred her to a bed. Fortunately handy Mike had not left for work and he quickly fixed it with wood glue, a hammer and c-clamps.

We have been trying to think of Halloween ideas. I was thinking Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin man, and Lion. After all, we do live in the Emerald City. Owen would be a great Lion. Maybe Mike could be the wicked witch? or the wizard? But now I'm thinking Owen needs to be The Hulk. He's really strong, plus if he puts his body weight into it--look out! He may look sweet, but don't put him in a cage! I wonder how we can make him green . . . .
