On the way home from the grocery store we spotted this buck in a church parking lot. We turned in for a closer look and followed him into the "wetlands" area a.k.a. rain drainage area. It's still weird to me to live amongst the animals like this. It's even weirder that I got close enough to take this picture. I was having Tommy Boy flashbacks and it made me really nervous. Luke kept asking, "Can we pet him Mommy? Can we pet him?" Luke is always on the look out for wildlife. He asks all the time as we drive through the trees and forest, "Mom is this Bambi's House?" There are 35,000 people in our city, but I have to wonder if we are out numbered by creatures. Who knows that lives in all those trees and bushes.

Bambi's House
