4th of July--Ferry Ride and Fireworks
We had a very memorable 4th of July this year. First a rained out-really misted out, Fun Run (3k) and pancake breakfast at the church. Then later we carpooled with our friends to Whidby Island for a BBQ and fireworks. We took the ferry over to a friend's house on the island. They live on 6 acres and rented blow up jumpy box and there was a water slide. There was a swing set/play structure, volleyball net and several grills. They hired a professional firework guy to do a 30 minute show to finiah the evening. It was a great time. Mike liked that there were no crowds, I liked that there were lots of good friends.
Luke and Josie on the ferry.
"I'm holding fire! This is so cool!"
"Fine, I'll hold it, but I won't look at it, or like it."
"When I smile like this all the ladies smile back at me--it's my best trick."
Luke and Josie ready and waiting for the firework show. sidenote: Luke came home from a walk with Dad yesterday. He had brought me flowers. I love that he does this, it's so cute. He handed me two this time, but kept one in his hand. When I asked what about this flower? he said, Mom, this one is for Josie. It was very cute. I think I'm still ok, I got 2 and Josie just got one. ( = When I told Josie's parents this story, Mom said "How cute!" and Dad just looked a little nervous.
Ferry ride home. We didn't forget Luke, he's just sleeping behind the pillow next to Josie. What a great day!
