Feeling Real

Yesterday I filled out a bunch of paperwork for the finalization of Aaron and Owen's adoption. There was the name change birth certificate form--that was fun, recieving the birth certificate in the mail makes it all feel very real and finished. We probably won't get them for months after the finalization, but it was still fun to be starting that ball rolling. And the reimbursement form for the adoption expences--attorney fees, adoption agency fees, etc. The special needs support form, which I don't think we need, but whatever, you have to fill out everything no matter what. And then of coarse you have to do everything twice, one for each boy.

I went over all the paperwork today with one of our social workers, so I could ask questions and understand things better. He is super helpful and great. And the boys love him.

It's really weird to actually have the forms, to be talking to our attorney, to our "adoption social worker" not the "family court social worker", budgeting expences, planning a celebration, planning for the temple, we've waited so long and now that light at the end of the tunnel is getting really close!

What will it be like to go on vacation when ever, where ever we want with no permission or special court order? Or to hire any babysitter we want, we could actually start spanking them if we wanted to! ( = The last 20 months have been all about meeting state requirements, following their policies and procedures, but we get to be a regular family soon. Yahoo!
