I Can See Clearly Now!

When we bought our house you could see through this door. But with wear and tear and then age, the seal broke between the double pane glass. And now it was just ugly.

You can't even see my black dog through it!

I bought a new door off of Craig's List. It was unfinished, no hole for a handle or chiseled out spots for the hinges. (That's where my handy husband comes in.) I put many many coats (I lost count and just used up the whole can) of Sea Finn, a marine oil they use on wood boats. It's the same finish as on my front door and I love it. I decided not to paint the outside of the door and sea finn it the same as the inside. I thought with all the grimy hands that will touch it, the wood would wear better. I can always paint it later.

I might have to pick up the back patio more often, I can now see all the clutter out there! But now I will be able to see my 3 little men out there a lot better. And it looks so much cleaner! That won't last, but at least now when I clean it, it will be clean. ( = I keep walking past it thinking the door is open since I can see through it now.
