Dreaming

Since we moved into our house a year ago, I've been making a list of projects, estimating their cost, and prioritzing in my mind what drives me the most crazy and which projects would up our property value should be sell.

This is what we do. We buy a house, fix it, and sell it. By house number 4, this is my programing.

Through my analysis, I've concluded that our kitchen is the most annoying part of the house. It also is possibly the best investment for our money--meaning should be sell, we would get the best return for the money/elbow grease we spend.

So I've been kitchen dreaming.

Here's some of my favs. (Keep in mind our house is reletively old and it's in a somewhat county setting for the area we live in.)

A wall needs to come down to open up for a better family space and in it's place we'll need an island. I love the idea of a cook-top in the island with seating--perfect for flipping pancakes and passing them out. I also like the idea of the island cabinets being different. Maybe not green, but a darker wood.

As far as sinks go, I love the old farm-style, large, single, apron sink.

This one's cute, with the curtains underneath.

I love these old windows over this sink. I'm glad my sink windows face out our patio/courtyard area.

I really love these old glass upper cabinets. Check out the labeled canisters. Love it.

These are great too. I love the color in the background. Fresh and fun.

I'm also a fan of the bead board doors here. Gotta have bead board somewhere.

Look, maybe even bead board on the lower drawers. So many great ideas.

Seriously, what did people do for decorating ideas before the internet? I guess the library?

I'm a lucky girl. I've got a hard working, handy husband and a kitchen designer dad. Perhaps with a little pleading, our tax return, and some thrify planning, I'll get my dream kitchen. In the meantime, the dreaming/design phase is pretty fun.
