Noodle Crazy

When the boys were 1, 2 and 4, we figured out the secret to getting through and hour of church all together in a pew. "A full mouth is a quiet mouth." We skipped breakfast and rationed the snacks slowly through the hour to keep them busy and quiet.

These days this concept has morphed a little. (yes, I said morph--I live with all boys) Instead of keeping their mouths busy at home, I'm a little more worried about keeping their hands busy. What do you do on a rainy day? Well, this day we made noodles.

I made the dough and cut the noodles. Then I passed them out to the boys and they separated them and carefully laid them out on the counter to dry. They LOVED it.

The ladies in my family have been making homemade noodles for generations. It's a tradition I love to pass on. And homemade noodle soup is just the thing to eat for dinner on a rainy day.

P.S. Santa--I need a new kitchen. More counter space, better cabinets, better traffic flow, just better everything. And if it's not too much to ask, I'd like granite countertops with an undermounted sink. Thanks!
