A New Level of Little Boy Heaven

There are many reasons my boys love their dad. And many reasons why they will love him even more as they grow up and realize not every boy has a dad quite as great as they do. Of all the ways Mike could have spent his weekend, he chose to spend it building a tree house with his boys.

It may have been the most exciting day of their lives thus far. Power tools, cutting, drilling, hauling, climbing--and in the end a new play spot just for them.

Everyone participated and helped out. Teamwork was learned and practiced. Following directions and working hard was all they did all day long.

The pepper tree made for a multi level fort and some interesting structural challenges, but nothing Mike couldn't figure out.

A safety bar was a must and some safety rules too. But somehow no one has really argued or fought up there yet. It's kind of it's own happy place for them.

The best way to end the day? A pizza dinner up in the fort.

Does it get better than this?

And check out the view!

Yes, little boys heaven just reached a new level in the clouds.
And while they were all out working, I got a little work in on this project:

It's the applique border for the quilt I'm making for our new bed. Can't wait to finish it and post on that. Let alone sleep under it!
Hope you had a great weekend too!

Those Forsgren boys are amazing. I love the tree house. The mention of a "Pepper Tree" brought me back to my youth and growing up in San Diego... As always, please enjoy SoCal for me :) Love your posts...
