My Cousin the Rock Star

Last Thursday night I got to go to House of Blues at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. My cousin Joey is the lead singer in a band, The Steelwells. I had never seen them live before and I must say it was SO fun. There was great energy at the concert and Joey did awesome. It was their first release album. You can even buy their music on Itunes now. How cool is that?

Here's the band. Can I just tell you how weird it is that Joey has a beard? Somehow it seems like he should still have a buzz-cut and suck his thumb.

Afterwards, I bought their CD and even got an autograph. ( =

Here's a shot of some of us who came to the show. Tyler took the picture. Mike stayed home with the boys, so I went with my dad. Good thing too. There was a not sober under ager who was sure I was an interested cougar. I had some trouble getting through to him I was NOT interested. My dad stepped up and said enough. He asked him, "who are you? her dad?" It was pretty funny to see his reaction when my dad said, "yes, I am!" Thanks Dad!

It had been far too long since I had been to a live music concert and I had forgotten how much fun it is. Thanks for a great show Joey!

Also, House of Blues has some really cool quilts hanging up. And the curtains to the stage are ginormous crazy quilts. As if the music wasn't enough, there were quilts too.

So cool cousin joey is famous, for more than the car pool incident. I know about not getting out enough. We went to a B52's concert and I thought I was going to cry it was so much fun! Love your blog, I am an official stalker.
