Home Again Home Again

We're back and I must say it's hard to be back. It's much nicer to be on vacation. The best part of this vacation is that we went with 7 other families that have kids the same ages as ours who we really enjoy spending time with. We all stayed in one big house and after the kids were asleep we all stayed up and talked and laughed. It was FABULOUS!

This trip we had a few firsts. Luke's first fishing pole and fishing attempt, nothing caught, but still very fun.

Luke carried his styrofoam bate container around all weekend asking everyone if they wanted to see his "bate." SO cute. He didn't have many takers.

Luke also had his first big boy bike ride to the beach in the bike lane with his dad. I followed along behind in the quiet peaceful car ready with the bike rack on back just in case.

Drip castles with Dad were a favorite.

Luke found not one . . .

. . . but TWO crabs. Which made him the most popular boy on the beach for a while.

Of coarse the first person he wanted to see the crab was me. (This is one of the great things about being a mom.) And then next was the oh so cute, Josie. I think she was impressed.

Luke also found a ladybug on the beach. How lucky is that?

There's really nothing better than soaking up the sun in a man made pool with your buddies. The water out in the ocean was pretty cold, so the wesuits got little use.

Food never tastes as good as it does at the beach, even if it is covered in sand. Look at that hand all covered in sand.

The lifeguards were so cool they let the boys "ride" their quads.

As if all of this wasn't enough, we were able to stop by here, not once but twice for fresh from the factory ice cream.

Although the 38 flavors of ice cream were amazingly delicious (no I didn't taste them all--I got stuck on the German Chocolate Cake and Carmel Toffee Crunch), the smell outside the factory store was not. And Luke was very glad Mom came prepared with one of these for the parking lot walk to and from the car.

(thank you Brown Bear Car Wash for the free air freshener!)

Hope you had a great memorial day too!

Now back to the laundry mountain. This post was my half way reward. The mountain is starting to resemble more of a large hill. Hope there's something good on TV.

Cool - Tillamook Cheese Factory! That's near the area that I grew up in! A must-stop-by if you are in that area. Cool! Looks like you had some pretty decent weather, too. Lucky you!

How fun to vacation with other families! I'm glad the cheese factory wasn't serving cheese ice cream. Luke looks like the happiest kid alive in the picture with the crabs!
