6473 miles in 23 days

So I'm really tired. And I know exactly why. First I drove down to my parents in Orange County for Christmas and back. It was a little crazy to drive that far alone with 3 little boys. It was 2374 miles round trip. On New Years Eve I was 2 hours from home and learned my Grandpa had passed away. So I turned around January 2nd and flew home to be with my mom and speak at his Memorial Service. Another 2374 miles and little sleep. This weekend is the funeral service and graveside service in Utah for a grand total of 6473 miles. I long for a weekend home with my family in my own bed. Although I'm tired and am having "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" flashbacks, I am so grateful to be able to be there for my mom, to be able to attend the services, and to be blessed with such a wonderful man for a grandfather. Not to mention I have a very loving supportive husband who has been so great through the whole thing. I love you Mike!

I hope I can have such a profound positive influence on my family and grandchildren the way my Grandpa did. And I hope when I see him again he will be proud of the life I have lead. I love you Grandpa!

P.S. Thanks so much to those who offered to let me stay with you in Utah. I'll be staying with my parents at Kay and Reese Johnson's in American Fork. She was one of my youth leaders and is a close friend of my mom's. We love you Kay!
