There's something fantastic, fulfilling and even addictive about a project. Well, at least for me there is. It's the whole process. Have an idea. Make a plan. Do the plan. Adjust and roll with it if it doesn't go like you thought. Make the best of things. Finish. Enjoy.
I've been really annoyed with holiday decorations you can buy in the store. They seem to fall into one of the following categories.A) Cheap B) made of tinsel C) overly generic D) over priced or E) all of the above
I guess I'm just a homemade kind of girl when it comes to holiday decorations.
I've seen lots of garlands and bunting on Pinterest, but none were just what I wanted. But then I remembered some felt I had from Christmas projects.
So I made a conversation heart garland out of felt. I love it.
It wasn't too hard. Just felt, an alphabet stamp set and red ink. I uses baker's twine to hang it and a glue gun to attach them.
Google images came in really handy to find just the right shape and scale for the hearts. So did my geometry ratio skills. I made a template and traced it a few times on each color of felt.
I love that I can choose what the garland says. I love that I chose the pattern of colors. I love that I made more the next day with the boys. I love that the girlies and I are getting together to make more next week.
I've got one more Valentine's project up my sleeve. It's a surprise though. For my sweetheart.
Valentine's Day is for sure one of my most favorite holidays.

Your garland is adorable. I have letter stamps and felt so I might make one too. Thank you for the great idea!
