Please Help

I would be a bad mom if I didn't ask for your prayers (karma, vibes, meditation--whatever you've got) for the next couple of days as we fight to keep our current foster baby. We are hoping to avoid her being bounced to her 3rd home before being 4 months old. There is no good reason why she can't stay.

Many thanks to everyone who is already on board and doing all they can. We love you!

Please feel free to do your own post and link to me if you like. Thanks bloggy friends!

Here's some interesting related facts:

Our county gives priority to a wait list of adoptive families unwilling to take a risky placement instead of opting to leave children in their current placement where possible. This gives priorty to mature adults (and somewhat selfish in my opinion) over developing children. Not all counties have this policy, but many do.

Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is a very real and challenging condition that can be completely avoided if children are not moved from one home to another.

During the first year of life "attachment" to a primary caregiver is crucial to social and emotional deelopement for the rest of life.

Jessica, you and your little angel are my prayers so she can stay with you. Being on the road to become foster-to-adopt parents ourselves, your post created awareness of a situation like this that I haven't considered before. I so agree that this is unfair to the baby and to you, for someone to have a chance (and a better one too) at taking her when you have taken her when she needed love/care the most. You are wonderful!!!
