Honest Review

Blogger Friends. Here's a draft of the letter I plan to send to the county director. Let me know what you think--additions, deletions, corrections, etc.

To Whom It May Concern,

I appreciate your time and your special consideration. By this time I’m sure you have been made aware of our family’s situation. I hope to share my personal perspective with this specific situation—the adoption of ******.

****** came to our home on my son Aaron’s 5th birthday. It would have been a special day anyway, but her arrival made it even more memorable and wonderful. In our family we have 3 boys—all adopted and each unique and special in his own way. Each of them has been so excited awaiting the arrival of a baby sister.

Since ****** has come to our family we have loved her with all our hearts. We knew there was a possibility she may not stay with us, but we knew she needed us. She is a great blessing in our lives, bringing a sweetness and joy words cannot express.

She knows each one of us. Whether it is my husband’s deep voice and strong secure hands, the playful clown-like shows the boys perform for her, my words of comfort or evening lullabies, she knows us—our faces, our voices and smells. She prefers us to other family and friends. A smile from us brings a smile to her face. She knows we love her. She trusts us to love her.

As her relationship has grown with us, please consider if it is in ******’s best interest to start over and suffer yet another loss unnecessarily.

Please let her stay with us. Please keep her with those she believes to be her family.

Sincerely,

Jessica

I think it's a nice letter, well written. I don't know if I could be so nice if I were in the same situation. Do you have pictures you could include? would it help? Still praying for hearts to soften and miracles to happen.
