Texture

One thing that is generally lost in photographs of quilts is the added texture that the actual quilting gives. Generally in pictures you just see the piecing--the fabrics chosen and the geometry of the design.

That's why I love this picture . . .

If you're wondering what the pattern is that I quilted it's called stipple--it's pretty random and looks kind of like puzzle pieces.

I took this shot as the morning sunshine was pouring through my bedroom windows that face east. The sun hit the quilt just right so that each bump cast a perfect shadow showing off all the quilting I did. Imagine running your hand over this quilt. It's glorious and I love the way it feels. It was time intense, but worth every minute. Each time I climb into bed I smile and feel like I'm a queen, sleeping in pure luxury.
