You're only a puppy once.
All of us come with different personalities and strengths.
Everyone can be trained for the most part, it just takes longer for some.
There's no better qualities in a friend than loyalty, forgiveness, a patient uncritical ear, unconditional love and companionship.
A happy friendly greeting can really make someones day.
Then it's dark and scary, it's nice to know someone has your back--especially someone with better eyes and ears.
Loving someones kids is a sure way to win their love too.
Everyone pulls their weight the best they can, even if it's pre-washing dishes, entertaining children, and stepping in when the doorbell breaks. (I'm not sure we even need a doorbell.)
Temptations are better left out of sight and out of mind.
Its easy to forgive when after you scold they instantly feel bad and give you a kiss.
The worst of days are often fixed by a nice walk with a good friend.
Bruce and Lucy are almost 10 and 8. I never knew what a role they would play in our family when I brought them home as puppies. I only knew Mike would be so happy if he had a puppy, and I just wanted him to be happy. Infertility was so hard and lonely. I'm not sure how long they will be around, but I will really miss them when their time with us is over. All dogs go to heaven you know, so perhaps if I'm good, I'll see them there.

Ya... they are pretty awesome. We watched Marley and Me the other night and I balled and kept thinking about bruce and lucy. Dogs really do set a good example for all of us humans. It's a good thing because we often need those little reminders.
