I belong to the largest women's organization in the world. We take care of each other, we support each other, teach each other, do projects and service together. And yes, some of us even quilt together.
This quilt was a a quilt group project from my quilt group in Washington before the move. The color pallet we chose was "rainbow sherbet". My favorite thing about this quilt is I think it's a perfect symbol of sisterhood. No two blocks are the same, they are each beautiful and unique in their own way--some bright, some pastel, some floral, striped, plaid, polka dotted, big print, dainty print. Some look like they might not belong, but they add extra depth and just make things more interesting. They all are complimenting each other and all together they are beautiful. Just like my sisters.
Each month we each made 8 blocks and gave away 7 of them. I moved away in the middle of the project, so I mailed mine in and they mailed me mine back. It was like Christmas when the blocks arrived.
I finally finished my quilt. It's all pieced, bordered, quilted and binded. It's crinkled from the wash and is crisp and fresh. It makes me happy to look at it and even happier to curl up under it--feeling the love of all the ladies I miss so much. I made it a twin bed size. Maybe I'll put it on a twin bed someday when one frees up. There will be no chance then for spaghetti hands to slime up that perfect white Egyptian cotton.

that is so pretty! i love it
That makes me smile looking at it. I don't blame you for keeping it. I like how you put a pinwheel in each corner. Did you quilt it yourself? I finished 4 quilt tops in the last 2 months, and I'm a little intimidated to quilt them myself, but it's pricey to have someone else do it! Lovely lovely quilt. Miss you.
It's gorgeous! I've made 2 baby quilts out of mine so far and think I still have enough for another lap quilt! Thanks so much for sharing!
what a great idea! don't hate me if I steal it! :) btw suuuuch a cute quilt - I'm glad you're keeping it...(isn't that hard sometimes? I always want to give my projects away once I'm done....there are only a couple I'm keeping - but this is def. a memento (sp?) worth keeping!!)
So lovely! I would keep it for myself, too:)
So, so pretty! I'm working on a pinwheel, too, but I love your bright, happy colors!!
Thanks for your card a couple weeks back...it made my day!
This is BEAUTIFUL!!! It makes me want to finish mine immediately. I love the yellow pinwheels in the corners and the yellow backing. It's perfect!
