Well, drum roll please . . . tah-dah!!! It's all done!
Isn't it gorgeous? I love it. Every attention to detail. All the angles are perfect. It's just as I dreamed it would be.
No longer does my deck sag! It's perfectly level and it doesn't move at all when you walk or jump!
Trevor suggested we miter off the edges so the water can easily drain off. He also suggested the stairs be slightly off from level, so gravity helps drain the water off. Is he from the Pacific Northwest or what? He knows his stuff. The steps dry quicker than the cement and they are not at all slippery when wet. What I should be showing are pictures of my injuries from slipping and falling on the old deck. This flip flop wearing California girl was not meant for rain. ( =
The boards are spaced out slightly more so that all the pine needles drop through nicely and don't get stuck. This may seem like it doesn't matter, but pine needle build up on you deck is just ugly.
Thanks guys!! I am so happy!

It's beautiful and that turkey is way cute!
That looks really nice!! Good job Forsgren family! =)
Nice work! Looks great! I laughed when I read the ideas about rain. I hadn't read that you lived in the NW, but I caught on when I read those ideas. We replaced our deck shortly after we moved into our house, and we now have some stair fronts that need to be replaced because of water damage, I'm sure. We live in Beaverton, OR.
Hope yours lasts a good long time. It really looks beautiful!
