Crazy Good Carmel Brownies

These are the best brownies I've eaten or made in a long time. Wow!

1 pkg. caramels (about 40 pieces)
1 pkg. choc. chips ( do not double for double recipe)
1 german choc. cake mix
2/3 c. canned evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted butter

Mix cake mix, butter & 1/3 c. milk.
Press ¾ of the dough into 11x13 greased pan.
Bake for 6-10 mins. at 350 degrees (will still be very soft).
While baking melt caramels and 1/3 c. milk.
Sprinkle chips over baked dough, then pour caramel.
Take rest of dough and put on top. (I take pieces and flatten it in my hand and lay them on top. That way it spreads more evenly as it bakes.)
Bake 20 mins. at 350 degrees.
Chill before eating.

Here's what it looks like before tha last 20 minutes of baking.

And after:

We made these for a youth activity at church. They were shoveled up quick--went like hot cakes.

Had to blog the recipe so I'll always have it. ( =

I'll definitely have to try these! And loved catching up on your other posts. Your window treatment looks great! I need to do something like that in our dining room. We have bay windows, so I want something light and not to heavy :) Good luck with the rest of the adoption, so excited to see pictures of her!!!
