In the Sun He Melted

People here that are meeting Owen for the first time don't believe me when I say that he was fat. In fact some have responded with shock that a mom could say something so negative about her son. But seriously, he was FAT. And it was wonderful and so darn cute. He was hard to carry around, but so wonderful to snuggle with and squeeze. He was such a happy good baby despite his respiratory problems.

He's a happy healthy boy. You could say he's a husky boy, or even that he carries a little extra on him. He's still got dimples on his hands and a crease in his thighs, but no I don't think anyone would say he is fat now. But lets look back at when he was 11 months, just a week shy of turning one.

Yes it's true I had to floss his neck with a thin wash cloth to get it clean. A close friend described him as over inflated.

There's no rubber bands on those arms. He's just a lot of LOVE! I used a lot of baby wipes getting all those creases and crevices all cleaned out. Try buying shoes for those feet, they were as big around as they were long.

Look at this face. Those cheeks . . . and the lips, he was an adorable baby.

So there's my evidence. He was indeed fat. And I loved it--every precious extra pinch about him.
