So home with just two, I took them to Disneyland for the afternoon. It was perfect weather. Kind of crowded since it was Friday, but still a very good time. As we stood in line for Small World, the clock went off. It does this every 15 minutes. Board, Luke was glad for something new to watch. He pointed it out to Scarlett, but she was too short to see over the crowd. He lifted her up to see, but instead of lifting her up to hold her in his arms, he kept going and hoisted her over his head and onto his shoulders. My knee-jerk response was panic. She can't sit on his shoulders! But then I quietly paused and watched with my arms out ready for the drop. It was fine. Actually, it was more than fine. She was delighted. She could see better then even he could. She was on top of the world on her big brother's shoulders. He was clearly strong enough to hold her up there. And I don't know anyone more concerned about Scarlett's safety than Luke. We weren't walking, so he wasn't going to trip or have someone bump into him. It was fine. He instictually knew just what to do.
And then my heart melted. It was precious.
Yes, standing in line for Small World, as the music played, the clock ticking, I had one of those mushy Mom Moments where you realize how wonderful your kids are. A pay back moment. A precious unexpected surprise. A little bit of joy. My only job was to watch, enjoy, and snap the camera.
Not all mom time is so precious or sweet. A lot of it is broken record, discusting, discouraging, monotomous hard work. Well, probably most of it is. But it's the little moments like this one that make it al worth it.
So my cup is full for a while.
Hope your weekend was a good one too.

This picture is a treasure! Love those moments!
When I saw that photo on Facebook, I didn't know it was LUKE under Scarlett's bum! You caught an amazingly sweet moment.
