Definitely Spooktacular

This year we went with the Star Wars theme for our costumes. I love a family theme if you can pull it off. It gives a sense of unity. Not sure the kids will go for it forever, but for now it's fun.

This guy knows scary when he sees it. So this was his pick. I feel pretty good about my face paint job. What did people do before google images?

There's a reason this one picked Ben Kanobe. The force is strong with this one. Good to the core and so wise, he looks after his little sister, taking her around to all the church carnival booths.

These two know how to battle like best buds--all for fun.
They were the Star Wars version of old school Cowboys and Indians.

Mike got into the trunk-or-treat this year even more.
He added a smoke machine.
Something about handing out candy seems to bring out his smile.

When you look at this picture, imagine the heavy breathing.
He had it going on all night.

Leia loves hanging out with her storm trooper bud.

(Oh how I wish I could clone Mike. Wouldn't that be great?
Work Mike, Yard Mike, Handy Mike, Date-night Mike, Play with the Kids Mike,
hmmm . . . I might be able to come up with a Mike for just about everything.)

Me and my little princess.
(I'm R2D2--hat version. It often seems I'm just a smart bunch of beeps to my boys.)

Halloween night we went to some good friends for a pre-party dinner. I've been addicted to watching Pinterest for fun party and holiday ideas. So here are this year's spooky fun foods:

Bloody Monster Eyeballs

Mexican Spiderweb Dip

and Vampire Lips

Here's the candy crew right before they headed out.

If you are wondering why the camera is fuzzy, I was too. Later I discovered there were gooey candy fingerprints all over my phone. I guess it all adds to the spirit of Halloween.
